Mass Effect (2007)

About This Game

The dialogue is strong across the board, and the voice acting does a great job of selling the cast. I especially liked how conversations are staged; characters are positioned against interesting backdrops, which makes even simple exchanges feel cinematic . That said, I wasn’t a huge fan of male Commander Shepard’s voice; it felt flat and forced compared to the rest of the cast. Where Mass Effect really shines, the game spoils you with lore and most of it feels believable and genuinely interesting. I loved how the codex actually reads entries aloud, it makes diving into the political and cultural details of each species much more engaging. The political lore especially stood out, adding depth to the galaxy beyond just the main plot
